Robert Puig
Dr Robert Puig graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami. He then obtained his M.D.from the University of Miami, going on to a General Surgery Residency where he completed two years at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Program. He spent a year as a Transplant Surgery fellow at the University of Miami before spending four years at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to complete his Urology Residency. At Temple he was named the Pfizer Scholar in Urology for his outstanding achievements in the field of Urology at Temple University. A large part of his training was at The Fox Chase Cancer Center and St Christopher's Hospital For Children while at Temple. He has specialty training in Robotic Surgery completing a mini-residency at the University of California /Irvine and specialty training in penile prosthetic surgery with world renowned surgeon Steven Wilson. Dr Puig has served as Chief of the Division of Urology at Baptist Hospital of Miami since the year 2007. He is a Diplomate of The American Board Of Urology and Recertified in 2009 with the highest ranking Quartile score. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member Of The American Urological Association. He has been nominated for several years with Patients Choice Awards and Super Doctors for the Greater Miami Area. His interests include Robotic Prostate Surgery, minimally invasive surgery for BPH, Kidney Stones, incontinence, laser surgery, non scalpel vasectomy, and penile prosthesis surgery.
